让·奥斯本聘请私家侦探约翰尼·伍德调查她哥哥汤姆的谋杀案，约翰尼很快发现凶手是一个自称黑寡妇的女人，她经营着一家地下S&M俱乐部，约翰尼潜入俱乐部为邪恶的凶手设置了一个陷阱，正好赶上警察的到来。

女记者雷奥妮（玛丽亚·雪儿MariaSchell饰）决定独自一人深入调查一座位于小岛上的女子监狱。在这里，她亲眼目睹了监狱女犯们所经历的各种不幸遭遇。有些女犯在其他女犯的掩护下，冒着生命危险与来送工料的男工人暗中发生关系。另外一些女犯因为不服从严厉的狱长夫妇的管理，遭受到残酷的折磨。在没有男性狱警的监牢之中，一些女犯自愿或被迫与一同监禁的女犯发生了肉体关系。还有一些女犯试图逃脱，但最终又被捕回监狱，等待她们的是可怕的禁闭和残酷的惩罚。影片的最后，雷奥妮带着她的第一手资料秘密离开监狱，可虽然离开了这片人间地狱，但雷奥妮的心灵早已遭受到了不可复原的创伤。
