1943年，第二次世界大战期间，被占领的苏联即将迎来漫长的冬天。IstvánSemetka是一支匈牙利特种部队的一员，他的任务是挨家挨户搜寻游击队员。一天，部队在向一个偏僻的村庄行军时，遭到敌人的炮火袭击。指挥官被击毙，作为最高级别的军官，Semetka必须接任。穿过一片沼泽地，他把幸存者领到一个被占领的村庄，在那里与他们的分队汇合。

故事发生在解放前的上海。父母双亡后，三毛（文彬彬饰）在乡下生活无着，只好来上海投奔原先乡下邻居姐姐（马秋影饰）。姐夫（俞祥明饰）是个上海滩混混头目，他教三毛当小偷，正直的三毛不愿干这种下三烂营生，被姐夫轰出家门。流落街头的三毛靠乞讨为生，后被剃头师父（刘侠声饰）收留，暂时有了栖身之处。师娘（夏静饰）埋怨丈夫收留这个大街上捡来的野孩子，加之当时物价飞涨，经常入不敷出，三毛就成了出气筒。手艺还未学成，不久三毛被转送给算命骗人的吴瞎子（范哈哈饰）。常言道，人瞎心狠，他动不动虐待折磨伺候他的三毛和穷孩子小英（嫩娘饰）。度日如年的三毛不甘心就这样苟活下去，他决定设计报复这个害人的瞎子......
