黑妹放弃舞小姐生涯，虽然努力改造自己，但男友终不能接受她的过去；黑妹好友玲亦是白领，但午夜过后便是兼职小姐，事件被同事揭穿，把心一横与黑妹全力闯荡欢场，誓以美色换取巨富，却把毕身积蓄错押在一名骑师仔身上。
本片讲述了中国人民解放军的楷模——张思德的故事。在抗日战争后期，延安正处于热火朝天的大生产运动中。勤务兵张思德（吴军饰）为人老实，不善言辞，做好事从不邀功，工作任劳任怨，一心一意为中国革命事业奉献自己。因为一次合唱表演，毛泽东主席（唐国强饰）注意到了这个憨厚朴实的勤务兵。而后的几次接触中，毛泽东主席给张思德总结了他最大的缺点——不善言辞，同时毛泽东表示这也是他最大的优点。为了解决中央机关冬季取暖问题，1944年张思德带领一班人到安塞县烧木炭。在一次烧炭中，炭窑突然崩塌，张思德不幸牺牲。毛泽东主席在他的追悼会上深情地说，我们的队伍里到处是这样的人，普通、平常、像清凉山上的草一样，我们不注意到他们，往往也听不到他们的声音，可正是这些人支撑了我们的事业……
