伯恩斯坦（乔·哈姆JonHamm饰）是一名体育经纪人，在这个竞争激烈的行业里，伯恩斯坦的事业屡屡受挫，最终，伯恩斯坦决定和球探雷（艾伦·阿金AlanArkin饰）前往印度，将这里作为他们最后一搏的战场。在印度，两人策划了一个名为“百万金臂”的真人秀节目，意在平凡人之中发掘拥有投球天赋的投手，并且最终将迪尼斯（麦活·米泰尔MadhurMittal饰）和瑞库（苏拉·沙玛SurajSharma饰）两名少年招入麾下。之后，伯恩斯坦将两人带回了美国，投入了紧张而又高压的体能训练之中。然而，从未涉足的新奇国度和繁重的训练让两名土生土长的贫民少年很不适应，一直无法发挥真正的实力，不过伯恩斯坦并没有放弃，因为他早已经没有了退路。

宅男遇上被遗弃的狗狗，一起度过温暖又充满爱的时光。被未婚妻无情抛弃的赤西民夫（田中圭饰）每天意志消沉，上司为了让他重新振作，送了一只同样被主人抛弃的大白狗给他领养。曾被主人欺负的大白狗没法汪汪吠叫，只能发出“haw”的叫声，于是民夫为他取名“小巧”。两个曾被遗弃的灵魂，慢慢为对方打开心扉，一人一狗成了影形不离的伙伴。正当民夫的心灵创伤快要被治愈好时，小巧却意外走失，四处流浪，为沿途遇上的失意人奉上最温暖的阳光。
